Michael Burden is Co-Head of North America Real Estate Services at Gordon Brothers. Michael leads the growth and expansion of the firm’s real estate services platform providing full life cycle portfolio optimization services to retail, office, commercial and industrial clients.

In particular, he focuses on helping companies develop and implement operational efficiency plans within their real estate portfolios.

Michael has over 25 years’ experience in the real estate industry within the retail sector focused on marketing, branding, business development, and corporate strategic planning and initiatives.

Prior to joining Gordon Brothers, Michael was an executive managing director at ExcessSpace, a Newmark company, and played an integral role in making it one of the most recognizable brands in the shopping center industry. Previously, Michael worked at a prominent consulting firm that specialized in retailer bankruptcy and turnaround management.

Michael has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Buffalo and a Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law. He teaches classes for the National Retail Tenants Association and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. Michael is based in West Harrison, New York.
