When Triad Racing Technologies made the strategic decision to wind down its engine building operations, Gordon Brothers provided capital upfront against the sale of the engine shop assets and motors. Triad Racing Technologies is based in Mooresville, NC, and is known for building NASCAR race engines and body parts and is a primary vendor for all Toyota NASCAR teams. The assets included all machinery and equipment associated with its engine building and R&D programs including full CNC capabilities, complete 800+ HP race engines, a large stock of engine parts inventory, and other miscellaneous equipment.
Due to the onset of the spec motor program introduced by NASCAR into its lower level series, Triad Racing Technologies made the decision to exit its engine building and leasing business. However, it continues to operate its other divisions focused on body parts and NASCAR racing. While looking for a partner to facilitate the sale, the owner was attracted to Gordon Brothers’ multi-channel capabilities, patient approach and industry knowledge. As part of the sale process, we utilized direct marketing, digital and print advertising and sponsored the Gaunt Brothers Racing car at the Martinsville Speedway to generate awareness and sell the assets.
Today, Triad Racing Technologies continues to supply body parts to Toyota Racing Development. Throughout their partnership lasting over a decade since Toyota Racing Development’s entry into NASCAR, Triad has directly contributed to ten manufacturer championships, five driver championships, and over 100 wins in multiple series since 2004. Its engines raced in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series.
