We were asked to conduct a comprehensive inventory valuation to support The Book People’s search for a new source of capital.  Headquartered in Godalming, Surrey, the award-winning independent, multi-channel bookseller required a new loan facility to refinance its existing loans.  Having previously provided asset appraisals for The Book People, we were well-placed to undertake the project.  The company has a unique inventory profile with multiple sites and multiple sales channels.  Leveraging our deep understanding of asset values, we were able to provide a thorough appraisal of the complex inventory profile, which totalled £25 million at cost.  Our report included detailed analysis of the merchandise and sales for each site and distribution channel.  As a result of the valuation provided, PNC structured a facility on improved terms, to support future growth of the business.
