We managed the clearance of inventory across seven stores for market leader Gruppo Coin, closing the stores to maximise sales recoveries and help strengthen their store portfolio. COIN is an Italian department store with 63 locations across Italy. Following a strategic review, they took the difficult decision to close seven under-performing stores, five of which would be re-opened under a different group fascia, and executed an inventory clearance programme across all seven stores. As we managed the store closures and inventory clearance in partnership with local store management, Gruppo COIN management was able to focus on its on-going operations. A carefully structured marketing plan, including sensitive media advertising and eye-catching in-store signage, ensured that recovery values were maximised, whilst protecting the brand. The project was completed over a 12-week period and was an overwhelming success, with recovery values for the client considerably in excess of budget.
